For 15 years, I thrived as a Director in Banking.
I was sharp. Focused. Capable.

Then, almost overnight, that version of me disappeared.
I began forgetting things — names, dates, simple steps.
I questioned every decision.
I cried over the smallest triggers.
I felt rage at everyday sounds.
My body ached, burned, and demanded constant food.
I didn’t feel like me.
The breaking point?
Standing in my kitchen, holding a carton of milk in one hand and washing-up liquid in the other… crying because I couldn’t work out which one belonged in the fridge.
In that moment, I truly believed:
“Something is wrong with me.”
But nothing was wrong.
I was in perimenopause — a biological transition that affects millions of women, yet is still misunderstood, dismissed, or minimised.
